Mermaid Marathon
In honor of Rare Disease Awareness Day in February, PWS Mom Lorelei Benninghoff (Mom to Nora, 3 living w/ PWS) is swimming 1,000 laps in a Mermaid Marathon to support PWSA | USA and ensure that all PWS families have the support, advocacy, research, and resources needed to help individuals with PWS thrive.

About the PWSA
Mermaid Marathon
February is Rare Disease Awareness Month, and I’m swimming 1,000 laps in a Mermaid Marathon to raise funds for Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (PWSA) USA.
Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a rare genetic disorder that affects hunger regulation, growth, development, and behavior. Individuals with PWS never feel full and require lifelong medical care and supervision. Daily life can be challenging—but with the right support, individuals with PWS can thrive.
As a mom of a child with PWS, this swim is deeply personal. Every lap represents the love, resilience, and determination it takes to raise a child with a rare disease—and the hope that no family has to face it alone.
Throughout February, I’ll be swimming lap after lap to support the families, advocacy, education, research, and resources PWSA USA provides nationwide.
Every lap honors PWS families.
Every donation makes a difference.
Every share raises awareness.
If you’re able, please consider donating via the QR code, cheering me on, or sharing this post. No gift is too small—every donation helps.
Thank you for supporting our PWS community and these 1,000 Laps of Love 💙🧜♀️
